What is the difference between washington itself and washington dc?

What is the difference between washington itself and washington dc?

Are you serious? One is a state and one is a city, which is the capitol of the USA. They are on opposite sides of the country.

Washington is a state in the Northwestern corner of the United States. Washinton, D.C., on the other hand, is a city in the District of Columbia. It's kind of weird because the city of Washington, D.C. is basically is the whole District of Columbia. It is also the one place in America where people pay taxes but are not fairly represented in Congress.

Washington, the state, is just that a state. Its on the NW corner of the west coast. It's capital is Spokane. Washington D.C.(District of Columbia) is a city that is about a little smaller then Connecticut. It is a FEDERAL CITY and that is where The White House, The Capital, and the Senate is at. It does have it's own city council, police force, ect.

Washington DC is the Capital of the United States and the other Washington is the name of a State in the US.

If you're not referring to the State of Washington versus the City of Washington, DC, here's the answer:

The District of Columbia contains only one political entity, and that is known as the city of Washington. In earlier times, the District of Columbia also included other entities, notably the City of Alexandria, but that's no longer the case. So, there is no effective difference between saying the city of Washington, or the District of Columbia--they are the same.

one has less crime and less politicians, however it does have more hippies...

they are also on the opposite coasts, one is a state...

have you gone to middle school yet?
