Is Falls Church/Arlington VA a safe area near East Falls Church Metro station?

I will be staying near Lee Highway which i located in Falls Church, VA/Arlington located very close to the East Falls Church Metro Station any inforamtion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!!!

It is a very safe area--an affluent suburban neighborhood, with some retail, including an EconoLodge (perhaps that's where you're staying?) on Lee Highway. Some high-priced apartments were just built along that stretch too, with a new restaurant or two catering to those in their 20s and 30s.

By the way, despite the title, the neighborhood is actually in Arlington, not in the nearby city of Falls Church. The neighborhood was once part of Falls Church, but was transferred to Arlington long ago, keeping the name of East Falls Church.

Other than showing the good habits that everyone should practice these days (not wandering around late at night, etc.), you can rest easy. It would be harder to find a nicer, safer area in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Like any area you need to be observant and cautious. If you are attending a convention or conference only wear your name badge on site of the event. You should be fine, but always be careful.

I work in and around the Falls Church area a lot, it's fine, no problems, I am a contractor and have many expensive tools on my truck. Falls Church is an affluent area, and I have never experienced any cause for concerns.

Yes it is a fine area. The walk from the metro station toward falls church can be a little dangerous, only because the roads are set up so it is hard for the cars to see you. Stay on the sidewalk, or take the back way (email me independently if that is not clear) to the hotel to avoid.

I used to live about a 1/2 mile from there. It's pretty safe.
