What are the nearest major cities to Washington D.C.?

Like around 2 hours away.

I'd argue Washington, DC, is a major city in its own right, but Baltimore is probably closest--about an hour away. Philly is about 2-1/2 to 3 hours away. New York is about 4 hours away. Going south, the closest is probably Richmond, roughly 2 hours away.

Baltimore, Philly, Richmond, Annapolis

Baltimore, MD. New York, NY. Richmond, VA. Annapolis, MD.

Baltimore is closest, about 1 hour away. Philadelphia is 2 1/2 hours away if you get lucky with traffic.

Baltimore is the closest, but oh my the traffic is not good.

I lived in Richmond for a couple of years and loved it. It's like DC-lite. Traffic isn't bad. Tons of museums and monuments. Great for eating out. It's about 100 miles away.

baltimore is 43 miles away
