Moving west after college. Thinking about whistler,bc. Where to live and work?

Maybe thinking of just bartending or board intruction. If anyone with experience living out there can help me out that would be great. And how hot are the women?

Whistler is notoriously expensive to live/rent and very short of housing. Hopefully you graduate after 2010 Olympics. Then all the Athletes village will be available to convert to employee housing, plus all kinds of housing being built now for accommodation during the games.

Otherwise, if coming earlier, look for a place to live FIRST. Then go get your job.

There are some really great seasonal jobs in Banff and Lake Louise. Moraine Lake Lodge is AMAZING! You could bartend in the summers, and teach boarding in the winters, and stay in the same accommodations the whole time.

With the 2010 olympics happening in Whistler the housing Market's already skyrocketted and employment is down to nothing. A friend of our is actually going on holidays during the olympics and is renting his house out while he's gone. Some Idiot agreed to pay him $600 a week plus utilities no garage. And that's still 2 years away. Hotels have been getting people trying to book since they were announced. Have fun.

Whistler is expensive .With Olympics comming its booming

Wait until after the Olympics are done. You'll have an easier time finding housing and tourism will be up higher than ever, meaning more jobs for bartenders and instructors.

And Kasi, $600 a week for vacation accomodations in Whistler is a STEAL. Your friend easily could have asked for more - especially if it's during the Olympics. Lots of people rent out vacation houses for upwards of $200+ per night, easy, and that's during the regular season.
