Question about Downtown Vancouver BC Hotels?

My friends and I want to get a couple hotel rooms in downtown vancouver, but we don't know which one to get. We want to get a hotel that has a bar nearby and also somewhere to sight see/ walk around.

I've been on expedia and hotels.com and all that, but none really say if there are bars or sight seeing stuff around. If you could give me a street or like an area, that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Our favorite hotel in Vancouver is called The Sands By The Sea because it's inexpensive, you can see the ocean (English Bay) from your room, there is a bar in the hotel which is fairly quiet, but another joined onto the hotel and it overlooks the ocean as well. The bar is round so you can see quite a bit. The bus is right outside the door and it's walking distance to tons of great restaurants. It's on the corner of Denman and Davie which is not known as the "best" area of town but we love it there and have never had any problems at all. I believe it's a Best Western.
Have fun there! (I'm jealous)

Anywhere downtown is good. Steer away from East hastings though. Don't even go near there. That is where all the druggies are.
Try this site. Gastown is really nice.
Sorry hold on:http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe...

www.tripadvisor.com is a website with LOTS of info, reviews of hotels ect that I often use to get info on hotels around the world!

As someone else said, stay away from the East Hastings St area.

Enjoy your visit here!

Almost any hotel downtown will have a bar nearby that is within walking distance. Try Rosedale on Robson, or Metropolitan.
