Reasonably priced way to make international calls from the UAE?

I need to find a way to call the US from the UAE that costs less than the $10/min the hotel is charging me. Anyone aware of any online calling cards that might do the trick?

hotels charge more of course !!

i would have suggested you take a tourists sim card .. its cost-effective for a short visit .. provided by etisalat service provide (there's another company called Du)

but there's no way its $10 per min !! check again with them ..

Online calling cards or online calling cervices will not work in the UAE. All calling services or voice messenging services are blocked.
But if you make your call outside of the hotel it will not cost 10$ per minute. I think the current rate to the US is about 2 AED per minute (aprox. 0.70$ ) if you call afer 21:00h. But, unless you get a mobile phone you would have to call from one of the public phones.
