Cost of Living in Ras Al Khaimah?

I am currently working at a site in Jebel Ali & will be transferred to Ras Al Khaimah in a few months..I would like to know the cost of living there, the environment, is it a safe place? any good malls? entertainment, night life..thanks..

its a nice calm city .. very simple but you might like the nature there ..

its certainly not like Abu Dhabi or Dubai or sharjah .. these cities are active cities with traffic jams .. Ras Al Khaimah isn't .. and not many places for shopping or leisure .. however, its about 45 mins away from Dubai or Sharjah .. and i know many of my friends don't do shopping or maybe go to the gym or go out for fun in RAK .. they do that in Dubai or Sharjah because they'll have many options ..

other than that .. RAK is a good place if you don't care much about fun options .. and its very safe .. generally the whole UAE is safe .. you'll have all the facilities you need .. schools .. 1 or 2 malls (its a small city) .. clinics .. gym .. basic things are available there ..

I'm not so good with night life .. but there are some hotels and resorts there .. sure they have night clubs ..

cost of living .. everything is cheaper than what you had in Dubai .. everything ..

and about the environment .. told you already .. but i still prefer you type Ras Al Khaimah in yahoo images .. you'll get @ least a small idea of what to expect =)

I've moved to RAK 6 months ago; it is a calm clean city ,the weather is the same as in Dubai. The coast of life is the same as the rest of the Emirates may be except for the houses rent : it is cheaper may by 25 %. It is very safe place. There is only one big mall: Manar mall. I know nothing about ligh night. I hope it helps
