Am going to Dubai in august is it truly going to be very hot there. what shal i take with me???/?

IMAGINE URSELF GETN COOKED ^^

What shall you take with you?

Hmm...

Clothes, toothbrush, underwear, camera......do I need to list everything?

Very Hot
Lots of shorts and T Shirts !

yes it will be very hot. i dont know what ur used to but august in dubai is likely to be in the mid 40s centigrade and what makes it worse is the humidity is very high so its like being in a steamy bathroom, sometimes u feel u cant breathe and u get soaked in sweat very quickly. even at night its very hot. on the plus side everywhere is air conditioned and if u dont want to u can spend very little time outside. to be honest its too hot to go by the pool/beach except early morning and late afternoon unless ur seasoned there. most europeans with children leave between june and september for the hot summer months whilst schools are on holiday. u will need modest but light clothing, depending where u r going on the beaches in dubai its very westernised but u want to be a bit covered up going round the souks etc. basically take anything u would normally use in very hot weather.

Yes - very hot indeed - can go into upper 40deg C.
Dress - loose, light summerware - swimwear.
Unfortunately U cannorf strut around shopping malls / streets in swimwear.

it will be in the 40's. take a good mix of clothes. The obvious beachwear (although your time on the beach will be limited) if you are going on holidays and staying in a hotel, than it is worth paying for a transfer from the airport. Firstly you will be fast tracked through customs (it can take up to two hours otherwise) secondly, you needn't run the gauntlet of the taxi Que. If you are staying near jumeriah beach check out wild wadi. Also the restaurants in the jumeriah beach are fairly good. You can go into the burg but be warned there is a strict dress code. When in the city check out the gold souk for jewelery and the shops for clothes and shoes. (really good bargains). Have a great trip, its a fantastic place. I agree with Bren abouve about the clothing.

Yup!! It can get to about 50 celcius sometimes. And 100% humidity. Just bring shorts and t-shirts and sunglasses! Alot of suncream if you're gonna be on the beach. Thats about it really, but you will probably be spending most of your visit indoors in shopping malls cause it can be unbearable sometimes!

it would be very hot, dont get anything with you but once you are here be in your room with your A/C on and shop and roam in night...
if you really wana bring something.. bring some sun creams..

Yes it is seriously very hot and you won't know what's hit you! Trust me, after 13 Dubai summers it never gets any cooler! Shorts, t-shirts and lightweight shirts are most practical and basically nothing thick or heavy! Saying this, however, shopping malls and cinemas are fiercely air conditioned to try and fend off the heat so ONE lightweight jumper or sweater is probably advisable.
But apart from that Dubai is awesome!
Good Luck.

It gets very hot in July and August (50C+) (officially it doesn't get above 42C...but believe me..it does.)but it's also cheaper then and all the hotels/shops etc are air conditioned. The sea (Arabian Gulf) is as warm as bathwater then too.
What you take depends on where you are staying...the Jumeira beach, The Desert Oases or a hotel in the Hatta Mountains. It's more humid by the sea and less humid inland.
Whichever you choose (I've done them all)...It's a great place to go.

very hot !! try coming during Dec Jan - Feb ..

Jonny Fresh == loved your answer .. funny (Y) ..

You can wear anything you want! It's a free country....oh, it's not the U.S. My bad!

I would wear shorts and a t-shirt if you are a guy. If you are travelling with a female, I'd check local customs (i.e. veils).

khaki pants. have fun i wanna go!

if you are going on holidays, it is honestly a bad bad choice. You cannot do anything outside. No walking around, no swimming, no going on the beach... It would be a shame to spend your monet staying in your hotel room with full AC.
All the retaurants that have terrace in the winter, do not have any in the summer as the heat is unbearable (even at night)

If you are not going for holidays, then sun screen, hat, and light clothing. Take a light jumper if you go to the mall or to the cinema, it is a bit fresh somteimes because of the AC

But again, it is really not enjoyable...
