Sharjah Vs Dubai!?

Hi,
I have been offered a position in Dubai Govt. org with a pay of 14000 AED per month. I will be living there as a bachelor for 3 months till i get my labour card. After that I will be living with my wife. It will be really helpful if you can differentiate the below cost of living: Include the details for both the places.

Any input you put for sharjah should be the location which is near to Dubai border, as i need to travel daily to dubai if i intend to stay in sharjah.

Rent per month for single bedroom studio or apartment whichever is cheaper.
Sharjah:
Dubai:
--------------------------------------...
Cost of Food (breakfast/lunch/dinner) for a non-veg couple:
Sharjah:
Dubai:
-----------------------------
Travel facility from Sharjah to Dubai and Vice Versa ... cost and availability:

Travel facility within Dubai:

Utility costing in sharjah and Dubai:

Will be waiting 4 your inputs.

Thanks.

sharjah is cheaper than dubai for rent but i believe there are a lot of travel problems every day with congestion on the roads, i havent lived there for 7 years it was bad when i was there at rush hours but i think it may be worse now. if ur able to afford it then dubai would be the better option . food will be abt the same for either place, it really depends on what type of food u like, if ur british and want british goods that are imported then its more expensive, likewise if u want 5* restaurants, however if u use local supermarkets for basics like rice, pasta etc its fairly cheap. also there are a lot of cheap restaurants indian/chinese/lebanese/iranian.

cant help with electricity costs as havent lived there for so long, they didnt have gas when i was there, for cooking we used bottled gas, however i think some parts of dubai they were starting to get piped gas. u do use a lot of electricity as obvoiusly u need air conditioners for a good portion ofthe year. hope this has helped a little but no doubt someone currently living there will be able togive u more info. good luck

Dubai is generally more expensive than Sharjah, for sure concerning rents. Food will be pretty much the same. I would rather live in Dubai though since it's more of an urban city and more of a really busy place with lots to do compared to Sharjah. And Dubai is the only place in the UAE with Second Cup I think.. in the Mall of the Emirates...

You have a good salary, you will be able to afford to live in Duabi, but if you're looking for somewhere cheaper, but less entertainment than move to Sharjah..

* I live in Abu Dhabi :) (Capital city)

If you're gonna work in Dubai then it's more convenient for you to live there (obviously) unless you want to be caught up in 2-hour long traffic in the morning.
