What kind of rainy day is it in UAE??

Well i just want to hear your comments about the traffic today, i was stuck about 2 hours!

Don't you think that the government should declare a national holiday?

have a look at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVXzyu12O...

and let me see you comments as well....

Have a nice rainy day!

well i go to school and they told us there is a holiday tomorrow and on thursday you will come only if the weather is clear!! so i think this will clear the traffic a lot for those who have to go to work!! the emirates road got closed today at around 9 am from shrjah to dubai and all teh cars were sent back to sharjah

if you are in Dubai, I am sooooo sorry for you. The traffic there is horrible. Throw in the rain and the lack of drainage... ick ack barf.

I live in RAK, so it is a bit less congested, but the roads are still flooded, people don't know how to drive and it is generally a ick kind of day.

I don't think it should be declared a national holiday though...

And I thought folks knew to prepare when the heavy rains passed in 2006. It was as bad, as flooded, as cold =)

Here is a picture of the cloudy Dubai sky in 2006 when the heavy rains were just threatening:

I dont think so... we have so many holidays already lately and I am bascially delayed from my deadlines! Traffic is just the same I guess except in some floody areas!

Ahhh, so happy that I don't have to leave the house today.... Although I couldn't even if I wanted to because there is a huge knee deep lake infront of the door to our apartement building which I cannot cross with my baby I the stroller....
My husband had to walk to work today, because the roads are floaded, luckily work is right around the corner and it turned out he was faster there walking than his colleague was with the car.
I actually enjoy the rain. After aprox. 360 days of blue sky that gets old, too. So I enjoy the gloomy grey sky and the sound of the raindrops falling against the window.
But I feel with all of you that had to get out of the house and in traffic. If your car didn't drown last night, that is. I saw several cars standing there in huge lakes of rainwater.

i love the rain .. its amazing and extremely rainy today .. haven't seen it this way time ago .. i don't it even happened b4 !! mashala its amazing ..

and no i don't think it should be a holiday !! although some schools got the kids out because of the floods inside and everything ..

and have a wonderful rainy day for you 2 =)

As a Dubaian (UAE Citizen), I think it's a great day for rain to fall in the UAE, yet I think DEWA sewage should have been ready for floods.

But, love it ! I think the rain is giving the country some life after a dusty year because of Burj Dubai and other constructions!

FRESH X FRESH!

For me, I haven't left my hometown (Jumeirah), stayed there cause I already have a semester break university holiday. Kept safe and didn't cross highways.

mashalla ;)
