What to shop in Dubai?

I will be stopping over in Dubai for 2 days on my way from Chicago to Chennai. I was initially thinking of buying some gold jewellery, but with the prices so high, I might not. what else can I shop in Dubai?

go hunting for consumer electronics, tobacco, duty free alcohol.
