I got a job in Dubai for 10000 AED per month. Please tell me normal cost of living in Dubai.?

If you are alone and having a salary of Dhs. 10,000/month then you can be assured of the following:

Normal living.

Studio Flat in Dubai is now at least Dhs. 36,000/year which should equate as Dhs. 3,000/month.

One big source of expenses in Dubai other than Rent is the transportation (Dhs. 500/month) and bachelor nightlife (Dhs. 1,500/month)

You will be fine with that salary but you have to bear in mind that it's not how big salary that counts, it's how small your expenses are and how you manage it that really matters.

I agree with willie except I think he underestimated the transportation. Ofcourse it depends on how often you go out and if you will be using buses or cabs, but cabs are pricy.

10000 dhs is not a bad starting offer and you can probably find cheaper accomodation if you are willing to share.

I live in Abu Dhabi and I could not find a studio here for 36,000 per year and everyone tells me Dubai is more expensive, and if you look in the newspaper at the ads it look like it is.

The cheapest studio I found in Abu Dhabi when I was looking 2 months ago was 55,000 and one bedroom for 75,000... and they were not in the greatest areas.

The further you live from town the cheaper it gets, but the more you pay in transportation costs, so keep that in mind too.

You also have to pay all of it up front so be prepared for that... or they may take it in two payments which will cost you at least 5,000 more for the inconvenience.
