Pl. explain the problems (according to law) about sharing a flat in Sharjah. UAE.?

As I heard that according to the UAE Law, its illegal to share a flat with a family/Bachelor.

If so, why advertisements are published in a local news papers /web ??

Pl. clarify, its very confussing ??

Thanks in advance.

Reshma Soori.

Sharjah is really strange place to live.

Ajman abd Dubai is free with alcohol to some extent and Sharjah which is in the middle is off limits to alcohol.

While Dubai & ajman are progressive in their local laws... Sharjah is getting weirder and weirder everyday.

Example - as a law, it is illegal to have bachelors in family designated area or building. Who will know which one is which? And how this is being implemented ? - Nobody knows. You will only know if you are being notified or being arrested for vilolations.

But the funny thing is you are free to do what is illegal untill somebody reported you and you are cought !

Happy living in Sharjah.

Yes true its little bit confusing in Sharjah, but there are some building which is only allowed for families accomodation while some other buildings are allowed to share with, and the news papers or web. won't be able to know if its legal or not only by Municipality inspection. Also some people they rent a flat under their name and try to rent it to others by sharing to make some profit and this is not allowed only who got license to do so.
i hope this information helps...

How much clarification do you need? You asked this question now a couple times. I answered you, you voted my answer even as "best answer" (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... and asked me to email you. I did email you and explained the law and rules of Sharia to you.

What do you want more????????

he is trying to distort thats all miss (h) its obvious !!

This is what you should know:

1, It IS illegal to rent a sublet flat or apartment and the person who sublets to anyone is doing something illegal. Therefore, you would be renting and risking yourself to a bad situation. Rent only directly from the owner or real estate.

2. Newspapers really should not advertise advertise sharing of flats but they do- everyone seems to think they can get away with it. Also take note, a lot of the adverts are old as well- not reliable.

3.When renting a flat you will be asked for your marriage certificate too ( unless you are a bachelor) in that case you may be resigned to live in a bachelor located area as when all bachelors meet , they tend to gather together and be too noisy- this is annoying to families.

Be aware of the law and abide by them regarding renting.
