What are some fun things to do in Dubai?

Going to be there for 4 nights, need interesting/cultural activities to do - I do not want to shop for Gucci or Armani, I can do that at home. Thanks!

Sight seeing, I guess. I've only been there once, & for a short amount of time, so I didn't get 2 do n e thing. Try to find a travel representative who can help set up a tour for you. Good luck & have fun.

Look at the city, rent a car and drive true the town. Go to the beach, have a nice barbecue at the nice hotels there. Look at the famous places. I know shopping, you don't want to hear that..... make some friends, there is many interesting international people. Riding on the camel. What else... drink some exotic drinks... Look at the nice islands one of them Palm Island (look like Palm tree), there is so nice houses on it. Make some search on the Internet, get some more in formations.

You should go on a tour with the big bus company, you get to see a lot of dubai and there is a guide on the bus to inform you of interesting facts! Its fun. Last time I went to Dubai we received a voucher that is valid for a day and you get discounts for museums and other places. Also we got a voucher to go on a dhow cruise (well for an hour!) at the creek. I hope you have fun.

You can go to Mall of the Emirates for skiing, in the desert for dune bashing and can take a look at night life, in fact there are a lot to be done. I can play your partial host, if you allow me to do so

They offer desert tours with barbeque in the desert. Inquire in your hotel about where to book. You could also go to the race track, they have races every Thursday evening during the winter and although one cannot bet, one can make a guess on the winning horse and, if right; take part in a raffle and win prizes.
You should see the old souq in Dubai, not because of shopping but just for the athmosphere. If you want it a bit fancier you should go to the Madinat in Jumeirah. During the day you can go to one of the many beaches, here you can have it either very fancy, if you go to one of the hotel beaches, like at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, or more relaxed, for example at the Mamzar Park, where you can have your own barbeque at one of the designated grilling places there. Or if you like to see and be seen you can go to the public beach right next to the Burj Al Arab. You could rent a car and drive to the East Coast, in Fujairah or Kor Fakkan you can do snorkelling or diving. Or you could make a trip to Al Ain and go on top of the Jebel Hafeet - it is the highest mountain around and one has an incredible view from there. In Al Ain you could do some camel riding. They offer desert tours on camel there. You could also make a sight seeing tour with one of the double decker buses in Dubai to see the most important sights.

Culture:
Madinet Jumeirah, :old arabia pretty cool, great scenery!
Gold souks, : bargain gold down to 50%, souks are really interesting, even if you're not buying, worth a visit!
Desert safari: ride a camel, see the sand dunes :D

burj al arab: amazing, 7 star hotel its nice just to visit :D
wild wadi water kingdom: so much fun! amazing water park!
