Does Turks and Caicos have internet or cell phone service??

Yes, I am using the Internet right now. There are two providers: Cable & Wireless and WIV (the TV company). Cell phones are provided by Cable & Wireless and Digicel.
Some people with very powerful cell phones can use them while visiting, but on the whole one must take out a local subscription.
Telephone charges are very high and those of us who make international calls are very grateful to be able to use Skype.

Hi, just got back yesterday from there. I can tell you that if you have Verizon- there is no service there. Some of the very new phones, with some of the US providers will get service there, check with your local provider, they will also need to know what phone and model you have. My BF's provider, Sprint has service there, however, his phone was a yr. old and not compatible. So what we did was rent a cell phone for the days there. the prices range from like $8/day to $20/day for a trac phone and you start w/ a $10 card and you top-up as needed. We got ours where we got the rental car, Grace Bay Rental, and it was only $8 there plus the $10 card. At the airport they rent them as you come out, near the rental car place, but there were $15/day plus the $10 card. Minutes to the US are cheap.
Some of the hotels have internet access, check w/ your hotel or resort.

Enjoy the island- it is totally amazing there and I would recommend a rental car for at least a few days to see the island. We found some very secludedon the south west tip and the north west tip of the island.

No cell service if you have verizon...
