How is the club med in turks & caicos?

I have information about the Club Med in Cancun, Mexico that might relate to the one in Turks & Caicos.

I went on a 1-week vacation there 5 years ago, and paid roughly twice as much as typical because I wanted to ensure that I had a wonderful experience.

The resort's location in Cancun was the best of all the Cancun resorts. It was situated right on the beautiful tip of the peninsula and had a reef with a huge variety and amount of colorful fish just a short distance from the resort's lovely private beach.

The accommodation I stayed in was moderately nice, and had the distinct advantage of being situated very close to the ocean's edge. There were many lovely palm trees in view from my room, and I could hear the ocean waves break on the beach. This was especially nice at night, and made it easy to fall and stay asleep.

Club Med also had a wide variety of activities to do to keep you busy.

With a start like this you'd expect my time there to be simply wonderful. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The reason is the food. When you pay twice as much as typical, you expect the food to be at least moderately good, if not superior. And, the quality of food is usually one of the most important aspects of any vacation.

Well, the food was absolutely horrible. All red meats, including beef, pork, and lamb, were so hard that they were unchewable. Chicken was also tasteless and dry. I believe the fish was probably wonderful but, at that paticular point in time, I wasn't a fish eater.

So, my consumption of food for the week included eating just three main items: hot dogs, hamburgers, and tortillas filled with mild cheese. This is extremely disappointing when the extra $1,000 I paid should have included gourmet dining.

Anyway, I just returned from a second trip to the Cancun area, but 30 miles south in Playa del Carmen. I had a 1-week vacation at the IberoStar Paraiso Lindo resort for half of what I paid for Club Med, and had a truly all-around fabulous time.

The all-inclusive buffet food for breakfast and lunch was only moderately good, but it was 10 times better than Club Med's. Even better, the resort included 12 on-site Ethnic restaurants at which you could make reservations and be served by attentive waiters and waitresses. The food at the restaurants was generally only a bit better than at the buffets, but there was always an item here and there that was a standout.

If you want to learn more about my IberoStar vacation, which I rave about, email me at jeffspin@comcast.net.
