What do you like about Turin, Italy?

Hey,

I just wondered what anyone has to say about Turin/Torino. I would love to know what you found especially nice to visit, what you ate there, where you may have stayed, or anything else you would like to tell me about it.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you all.

Don't miss the historical cafes in the city centre (Fiorio, Baratti e Milano, Mulassano...), for coffee or better hot chocolate (but sometimes they don't serve it in the summer!). Fiorio also has the best gianduja ice cream in town.
Go to the Basilica of Superga, where the kings of Italy were buried, the view from there is amazing.
In the surrounding towns, visit the Castello di Rivoli, 18th century Savoia residence now converted into Italy's most important Museum of Contemporary Art.
Also head towards the mountains and visit the Sacra di San Michele (10th century abbey on top of a rock, fantastic).

Gianduja is made from hazelnuts and chocolate... it's typical of the area, and it's addictive! Report It

The architecture and the food/bars are really nice there. Look up 'Italy, festivals' on the internet as those times can be incredibly busy and you'll find it hard to get a hotel room or a seat in a bar!
