Seems like you already have a pretty good website on Kairouan. I did find some websites in English that offers some background history and tells why Kairouan is so imprtant to the Islamic world, and even offers a few pictures. I live a few hours away in Monastir and we've been to Kairouan a few times, and while the pictures on these sites are beautiful, I can say that they don't do any justice to seeing the city up close and personal for yourself.
