Examples of the native/traditional clothing from Tunisia?

Can you tell me about the native/traditional clothing of Tunisia? Do you have any pics?

The traditional clothing in Tunisia varies depending on the part of the country you are from. For the most part, the wearing of traditional clothing has died out.

Here you can find some examples of what traditional clothes looked like, especially the different varieties of wedding clothes worn by different regions (I forgot to label the regions they came from though!). You'll notice that for the most part the traditional clothes of men stay the same, no matter where they are from: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamie_hasse...

If I can be of any more help or assistance, please feel free to contact me.

I love traditional clothing, especially of the Middle Eastern/North African kind as it shows much intricate work and skill and it is nice to see that there are those that still want to learn such skills and pass them on through the generations. Sadly, in some countries such as the UK some of the older skills such as lace making and fine embroidery, etc, are not being picked up by the younger new generations as they find other less traditional interests. I think this is such a loss..

hi, in sousse everyone wears traditional in the small cities. most wear the housedress and the cover for men, the burnoose. i have the dresses myself for me and my children. i could send you a picture, but im not sure if i can post with my answer. oh and almost all older and a more and more younger women are wearing the white sheetlike one, i can not think of its name, sorry.
