Has anyone stayed at the monastir centre hotel in tunisia? If so how was it?

Monastir Center is a very nice hotel located in a very quiet part of Monastir called Sidi Monsour, yet still close to the beach. In fact, the hotel is located right next to one of my favorite cafes, Cafe Sidi Monsour. The situation of the hotel is nice because it is a quiet area, but yet so near to everything - hospital, shopping, beach, tourist attractions, restaurants, etc.

If you have any more questions, or if I can be of any more help or assistance, please feel free to contact me.

i stayed at the monastir in 1999 with my ex wife and 2 kids.
all the staff there were very helpful and friendly, the entertainment on an evening was good and aimed at families, music, snake charming and other traditional tunisian stuff. it's a bit off the beaten track but does have a local market, which has lots of cheap leather and souvieniers.
we took a train ride into tunis, (that was an expierience!) it's worth doing though. the hotel is set up mainly for french holidaymakers cause it's so close to france. we were among only 3 parties that were english so did feel a bit lonley, but like i said the staff did there best to make us welcome.
tunisia is a lovely place, so try and get out to see a bit of it. the hotel monastir did a 3 day safari into africa when we was there which wasn't very dear and worth doing.

all in all a good hotel that you can walk out of the back gate directly onto the beach - the beach is the safest on in tunisia as the president has a holiday home about 500 yards up the beach!!

have fun
