Tunisia - Hammamet - Mozzies in September ??? |
Tunisia - Hammamet - Mozzies in September ??? There are mozzies (mosquitoes), but you don't have to worry too much. They are not harmful or dangerous, and normally appear in the more humid regions (lakes, lagoons, by the beach, etc.). Ever year the government does it's best to rid the population of them with insecticides, and are generally successful. If you are still worried about them, bring a bottle of insect repellent with you. The pharmacies here also sell insect repellent and the stores sell a device that you plug into an outlet that will keep them away, even if you have your doors or windows open. Buy some citronella candles and a spray to take with you, insects hate it. You will still get Mozzies in Sept so go prepared! Can get the spray from some health shops. I have got bitten by mozzies lots in Tunisia... but some of the people i have been holidaying with haven't... think it depends on the individual person... There's always this alternative i am notsure, but i am bitten now. by just about everything. Hi Ya, yes i get eaten alive here in Sousse! but i use a plug in mosquito defender - called Maton Electric and it is fantastic, you also dont get any of that horrible smell you can sometimes get with sprays etc. I actually purchased it here in Sousse in the supermarket so you will be able to get one anywhere and its perfect as i can just buy the refills. |
