Whats do you thing of this new in thing of grown men crying?

In realty TV and the News whats going on?

Did you see Shaun Pollock crying on his speech on Sunday I was proud of the man because he did not cry in CTN, PE, DBN and then he messes up everything and cry's in JHB.
I lost respect.
Any grown man crying is a disgrace you can call yourself a man.

I understand if someone is hacking your leg with a blant Axe or you got hit by a bus but to just cry thats wrong.
Leave the crying to the ladies and children.

I agree with you .....crying in public is for women and children. Men should cry in private when they reach the age of 18. It is different when your wife and kids have just been killed in an earthquake or murdered and a TV crew pushes a camera in your face, but all this crying in public is a lot of k...k. Men are becoming so effeminated lately, having facials, manicures etc. I like masculine men without make up, manicured nails and a glowing complexion. I will also be highly upset if my husband cries "for joy" every time he completes an Iron man competition or watching our son in a concert or our daughter winning a gala.............I actually think men are getting emasculated lately.

Its called emotion , chief , and i personally dont see any shame in a man crying or showing emotion , it makes us human - He is leaving something that he loves dearly and was overcome by the memories and the emotion and support he was shown , for me that is not a sign of weakness.
So you saying , for eg if one of your family members or close friends passes away (god forbid) then its a discrace to cry and show emotion for your loss...
Sorry but i totally disagree with you on this one...

It's nothing wrong about a man crying. Its shows that hes not a heartless human like 89% of males are.

Grown men crying is a clear sign of sincerity, more specifically when emotional, an emotion sorely lacking in our society. Ive seen men crying in tennis, golf etc. How many men are sincere these days? I'm all for it and respect it more than less.

I also don't like it, unless one of your parents, children or spouse dies or is gravely ill, I don't believe grown men have an excuse to cry.
My last tear was shed when Transvaal won the Currie Cup, Lion Cup and Super 10 in 1993, I apologise.

Midnite - Wake up, we first of all, all know you were "laying it on thick" and secondly I think it pretty obvious that so was I.
Do I seem like a person who would cry from watching sports for an hour?
Your ego has yet again gotten the better of you and displayed your ignorance.

As much as I鈥檓 not against men showing their emotions but I have to agree with Ayiza, I think lately men overdo this crying in public thing. I remember during floor crossing last year, there was this guy in the Western Cape who joined the ANC, he hysterically cried. And then in the biggest loser we also see more and more men cry I just don鈥檛 get it! Like Lise K says it has to be something really hurtful that should make a man cry in public.

Men can cry?! Nooooooooooo!!!!

Your'e right, Ayiza. Let's shoot them all.....

(And that time when zuma sang "Bring me my machinegun", I wasn't crying. Dust got in my eye.)

(Allright, for the terminally slow, I'm laying it on quite thick. And Bull, there really IS something disturbing about men who cry simply because they've spent an hour watching a bunch of grown and sweaty men groping each other in the name of entertainment).

No, i think he showed he is only human with feelings, but i don't approve of guys throwing a tantrum for the sake of publicity -- lol some tears are so obviously fake but still they convince some at least that it is real and Lise has a point - i am not saying don't take care of yourself guys, but their is limits to what works for men and what works better for woman

Men are human too sweetheart.

Yes, it shouldnt be overdone...

But its better than venting violantly dont you think? because most are raised with that thing that men shouldnt cry, they end up running around beating each other up instead of crying. Ahhh, wouldnt the world be a better place if men discovered tears?

Nothing new. Its part of Italian culture -grown men cry everytime their Momma shouts at them.

A real man is not afraid of showing his true emotions. Afterall we are all human.

I am sorry to disappoint you khabane, but i cry at least four times a week. Some of the things that make me cry are: reading a sad story, sad movies, happy endings and when i am drunk (now the last one is my favourate kind of cry).
On the other hand, i would kill, with my bare hands, anyone who produces a blunt axe, even a sharp one, in an attempt to hurt me. Now that's when i become a man.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with men crying. After all men have feelings too.

Jesus Wept. Shortest verse I know...2000 years ago

If I see children suffering or in pain I cry, and couldnt give a rats a$$ if someone sees me.

There is nothing wrong with it, and it is not new either. It is a human trait. And why should men be afraid of displaying their human side? Even our good Tsepo admits to doing so. He is a better man for that!!

You realise that you are being sexist, don't you...

It absolutely fine for anybody to cry if they've been really touched.

I expressed my views on this on a previous occassion!

There's nothing wrong with grown men crying, especially with the death of a family member.

But losing respect for one of cricket's greats just because he showed emotion at his last game is a bit extreme.

Polly shed his tears when he was thanking his wife. I don't know what exactly this shows you - but is just shows you.
