Who like me is from south afrcia or been/lived there ??

Been...Loved.it...Fab! There's a lot of good news in SA...all we Brits hear about is bad stuff like Aids and murders. I never once felt threatened there, and everyone,Blacks and Whites, gave me good welcome. I got invited to a wedding for no other reason than admiring the tables that were set up in the Botanical Gardens, in Pretoria. Girls,it was a paradise of a wedding--satin brocade amongst tropical shrubs and flowers and a warm sun to keep everything bright.Couldn't do it in UK. Too risky. Big black guy in a yellow waistcoat came over,in a half a minute discovered it was my first visit to SA(he wasn't clairevoyant--I told him!) and straight away invited me join in.What a great party! Everyone having fun-blacks,whites,Indians,Chinese,and one guy from UK! The food was just amazing! Everywhere was the same-welcome,welcome welcome. I could fill pages of this with good events. And the braais....awesome! Did I mention food somewhere. God,we don't know we're born! Thanks,mate.....great country. Love to get back.

me!! ive was born there and ive been living in england for about 2 years now....south africa is the best place on earth i wish i could go back...I LOVE SA!!!

basically everyone in SA YA... we're a bit off track with the whole travelling thing, but hey - it's fun to hear everybody's opinions on the the things that lie close to our hearts... in other words SA!!!!! the fears, frustrations and ultimately hope for our rainbow nation!

personally, i'm still living here - in sedgefield in the garden route. what's your story? expat?

I am a proud Afrikaans South African Girl! And you?

Lol Honey I'm a proud expat South African.but there you have your answer from Jonal,so happy to hear there's one Brit that's got only good things to say about SA,any time you like Jonal you can come join our SA day in the summer and have a braai, just e-mail and i'll give you the details.xxxx

dis lekker by die see!!

I live in Johannesburg South Africa and all I can do is think about getting out. I guess coming here on holiday is different to living here. I cant take the crime, nor the power cuts or the bad traffic or the violence. I am doing everything in my power to get into Auz as it is the closest life style to SA but without all the above mentioned problems.

Well I was born in Zimbabwe, then lived in SA (Transkei) until I was 6, then came to the UK and have been here ever since!

I was born here in SA and i still live here

Born here, still living here, wanna move from here.

JOHANNESBURG!

I grew up in South Africa, married and had to kids there.

Born, bred and buttered in RSA - jozi.

Ja, me麓s also from South Africa. Born in Worcester, worked in Cape Town and now living in Germany.

I'm a Jozi girl in Joisey (New Jersey) at the moment :-) I miss home!

Hi, born in Germany , Lived in Jo'burg for 21 years, got married and now living in Germany. Rest of the family is still in SA.

I was born in SA, near Jo'burg then moved to Germany in 94 when I was 15 now been living in the UK 10 years this year, miss it loads haven't been back since but would love to go back for a holiday I bet alot has changed. Have some family there still, the Brits don't how to do a proper braai. Although I have lost my accent some people can still detect a little bit of it. SAfrican at heart. It's such a shame the way the country is going now a beautiful place.
