HIYA, can anyone tell me the best way from stoke on trent to alton towers? thanks? |
I don't know how to drive. From Hanley Bus Station stand 10 board a First PMT 32a bus bound for Uttoxeter to Farley Lane takes app. 50 minutes you then have a 10 minute walk to Alton Towers. At the m6 junction for stoke, take the a50 (or a500 depending on what way your travelling) Then simply follow the a50 past stoke and pick up the signs for alton towers. Its well sign posted and not too far from stoke. Take the A50 for Uttoxeter, A521 to Cheadle, B5032 to Alton, much more scenic route. If you don't drive then either go by taxi, which could be expensive, or ask at your local bus/coach station if they have buses going that way or if they even do day trips to Alton Towers....many do. There used to be a bus from Stoke to Alton Towers but this is going back 15 years ago when I used to live there. I can't believe there still won't be a bus. If I remember, the bus went through Stoke, Shelton and Hanley on the way to Alton Towers. Maybe Traveline http://www.traveline.org.uk/index.htm can give you current up to date information. Ask Virgin Trains - they may sell you a combined ticket. See http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/exampletim... for more details. |
