its a song bout love, the first stanza is bout a young *Kozak (a nation of a guy) who gets on a horse n fondly says gdbye to his girl n even more fondly he says gdbye to Ukraine

he feels sorrow for the girl n for the green(by green its meant that is has forests etc) Ukraine
his heart is crying cos he wont ever see em again

he compares his gf to a lil swallow, says she is far away n he is there in a foreign land and that he misses his gf day n night

he says there are many beautiful girls in the world but the prettiest ones are in Ukraine, where his heart is- by his beloved girl

last stanza says he wants wine to be served to him and when he dies he wants to be buried in Ukraine by his lovely girl
