What should I see in Philadelphia? |
I am going to have about 4-5 hours in Philly in a few weeks. What should I see? I will have my car but I can do subways too. These are the must sees... Go to the Philadelphia Zoo, Art Museum, Franklin Institute, Penn's Landing, South Street. The Old City section is nice. Also Japanese House in Fairmont Park is really nice. Its an authentic Japanese house, and they give you some history and facts about how Japanese culture. the national liberty museum, the mint, the first postoffice, ben franklin'sgrave, egar allen poe house, city hall tower, free tour of the kimmel center.n eat at the reading terminal City Hall, Congress Hall, Independence Hall, Independence National Historical Park, Ride The Ducks of Philadelphia, Reading Terminal Market penn's landing Mutter museum of medical oddities South Street!!!! philly zoom, museum,Liberty bells, independence hall, geno's cheesesteaks, and pat's cheesesteaks. Only go to south street if you like seeing half bombed out looking shops mixed with fake punk kids and cookie cutter big name retail like the gap. South street was cool 10 years ago, but has since played out. I recommend checking out Northern Liberties instead if you are looking for neat little shops and restaurants. The area is starting to come along really nicely. 4-5 hours though? Hmmm... tough call- You may just want to stick to CC and rittenouse area. That's not a ton of time for Museums, site seeing and all the cool building tours. It takes me that long to go to just the Art Museum and really feel like I got to experience it. |
