HERE I GO AGAIN: I'm moving back to Orlando- from Minnesota...?

I lived there for 4 months and could not find a job. (Oct-Feb 08)
I had to move back to MN.
I'm 37 and have awesome administrative assistant/receptionist/customer service/office skills.
WHERE, OH WHERE would I apply for a job?
What can I do right now from MN?
I'll be there on 3/15

thanks elaeblue & josh C, I'm on it!

anyone else have ideas?

Here is a link to the online edition of our local Newspaper, The Orlando Sentinel, Jobs section:

The job market is very comptetive right now. Between the dreadful housing market and some layoffs in the tourist/service sector, there are not as many openings as there were a few years ago. There are a few bright spots, though. There are several large government contractors in this area (Lockheed-Martin, Siemen's) and also a new Medical development (Burnham Institute, UCF School of Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Institute, VA Hospital) being built.

In addition to checking out the local school districts (Orange County Public Schools, Seminole County Public Schools), you should check out local goverments: Orange County, The City of Orlando, The City of Winter Park, Seminole County, the City of Oviedo, the City of Altamonte Springs, Lake County, The Downtown Development Board, The Orange County Convention Center, The Orange/Orlando Expressway Authority, and maybe some State of Florida jobs-like the local County Health Departments.

There are tons of banks, retailers, restaurant groups, lodging groups and the tourist bureaus as well, but as I already mentioned these jobs are very tight right now, and most do not pay all that well. You might see if Darden restaurants or AAA (American Automobile Association) have any openings.

Try to save up as much money as you can before you come down here. Spend some time reading local newpapers, local TV websites, and relocation guides-so you have some ideas about where things are before you return.

Good Luck!

Start checking out the want ads in Orlando so you could perhaps set up interviews while you are there. Check hospitals ( always looking for admin assistants) and school districts.

Register with a couple of temporary services. Temp jobs often turn into permanent full time jobs.
