Is it possible to plan a Disney vacation for a family of four under $1000.?

I want to go to Disney, but have a tight budget. Would like to spend under $1000 including tickets for a family of four. Am I crazy or can it really be done?

I guess I did leave out a few details that may help with suggestions. We live in NC so we will drive...it's only about 8 hours. My children ages are 3 & 6. We want to stay for five days. We really want to go this year, but may just wait until next year. Thanks for all the suggestions/comments.

If you're not including transportation to Anaheim or Orlando. 搂搂

Depends on the age of the kids and length of stay. In general for 4 people you would need about $450 per day for tickets, parking, and meals. This does not include a room which would run you about $45 per night for a dirt cheap place near the parks plus transportation which is not included in many really cheap hotels. So you might be able to get 2 days for less than $1000 but of course you still have to pay to get to Florida and back.

Figure $100 per day for tickets and food at the park per person. That equals $400 for the day plus rooms.

Yes but there are a lot of variables. How far are you traveling, are you going to stay at a camp site, are you going to bring your own food. Yea it is possible to travel on the cheap.

I would say you need a little more to do it right. You cant go ti Disney and expect to have a good time pinching pennies. Save up more money. I know you can get deals for a week stay with park passes for like $1600. You will have to buy food and pay for airfare if your flying. We go every year, we just love it there. Just call disney at 407-934-7639...
Of course you can stay off-disney property but I dont recommend it. Its more of Hassle, driving back & forth, paying for parking everyday, gas. Its your call but disney always runs specials. Also check mousesavers.com, helpful website with tip on disney related stuff..good luck

NOTE: you didn't say for how many days or if you are flying or driving or how old the kids are.....but..yes, depending on the answers to those questions;
My advice:1) buy tickets through Triple AAA using their discount, its a tad cheaper & will save you from waiting in line once you are there.
2)Stay off Disney property, there are many smaller yet safe & comfortable motels very close to Disney along International Drive or Orlo Bronson Highway.
3)Avoid buying souvineers & those disposable cameras in the parks, all can be found cheaper in any of the shops all over Orlando. You have too eat, you Don't have to buy a set of Micky Mouse ears.
4) Take advantage of all the coupons for dinning. Those magazine & coupons books can be found everywhere.

Please don't buy anything from anyone telling you that they can save you money on tickets. This is a huge scam. I've seen folks on here peddling that and it's a fairy tale.

For $1000, are you talking about tickets, meals and transportation? How far will you be traveling? Airline tickets for a family of four will likely take up that whole budget. If you are close by and driving and are going to stay for a weekend, you might be able to squeak by, but it would be tough.

Well, for starters, you should stay at a place very cheap: ORLANDO DREAMER VACATION HOME!!
If you know anyone else needing a beautiful place to stay in the Orlando area (besides you :-]), please let Derek and/or his wife Heidi Jo Levendusky know via this website:

Quote from Heidi Jo Levendusky:

"We have turned an investment property into a vacation home. We needed to furnish it, so I put my Trading Spaces hat on and planned and purchased the d茅cor in three days. We had many people help out by giving us different things for the house, and the Lord helped me SOOO much to put it all together. Check it out, and let me know what you think of my decorating skills! (lol)"

If you and the other three members of your family live in Orlando, Orange County, Kissimmee, or Osceola County, then you can all go to Disney World for less than $1000. You can drive your own car. Or you can ride the Lynx to Disney World. If you live anywhere else, then you can forget about spending less than $1000 at Disney World for less than 4 people. It cost me over $600 by myself for a trip to Disney World.

problely not due that you need to buy food tickets airfare (gas if you take car) Trasportation to and from the parks

not sure. when I go, it's always around $2,000.

1 disney ticket = $80 per adult. I am not sure about kids.

Or simply contact any disney timesharing booth.

Well maybe you will have to stay less than 5 days or just go to 1 park. and if you do come make sure you'll take water, food, sweets and all the cravings kids have when being outside their house. cuz it's very expensive. maybe you can be at a hotel that has a nice pool so you can stay most of the time there and not go out as much. or at a hotel that has a park with swings neat by so you can take the kids there. I'm sorry to say but it is very expensive here. or maybe you should hold on to it untill you have more money.

virtually impossible, sorry

Tickets for 2 children & 2 adults would be about $840 for a base ticket. If you stay at the campground figure $42/night during value season. ($168 - four nights). If you add the meal plan $500.
Total $1508.00. About as cheap as you could go unless you bring your own food with you. Take out the meal plan and you are almost there! (taxes not figured).

Sunday - Thursday would be the cheapest rate anywhere. Time of year also factors in.

Above doesn't include transportation to and from Disney.

Check into AAA, Disney Visa or other discount cards. They often offer additional discounts.

go during value season---stay at value resort----bring food to eat breakfast in the room---bring snacks into the parks---water too---hope this helps

We just did it. You can email me for the lowdown.
