Going to Amsterdam next month. Is it cheaper to get Euros' or just charge on my credit cards?

Going to Amsterdam next month. Is it cheaper to get Euros' or just charge on my credit cards?

It depends on what kind of credit card you have. Some credit cards follow the exchange rate for other countries. To be on the safe side it would probably be best to get Euros and follow the exchange rate yourself or check to see if your credit card is universal with the global monetary exchange.

credit deffintly. mkae sure u bring back some lovely bud for us

Get Euros.. Prices are much different in Amsterdam and your American money will be worth less than half of what it is here. If you invest a certain amount in traveler's checks, you'll know exactly what your budget is and you'll be able to keep better control of your money while you're there. Also be very careful to keep a constant eye on your money while in Amsterdam, street performers and pickpockets will do anything to get your money!!

every time you charge on your bank or credit card and draw out in the currency you will be charged a service charge so just use it for large cash purchases for security. It is cheaper to get Euros than using the credit card.

get travelers checks man and hey bring back some weed 4 all of us.

I'm not sure of other cards but American Express is the best way to go. They will figure the rate of exchange daily while you are on your trip so you will not have to worry about it. I would have some Euro's in my pocket as well.

Best is to use a bank card in an ATM, check that your card is ready for it and what each use will cost you.
For large payments use your credit card, but for small amounts people in Europe do not like to use cards.

Visa and MasterCard are good, American Express is less liked, because of the costs involved for the shop owners.

I used my credit card mostly, on my last trip. Tons easier, and you are assured of a good exchange rate. You'll want a few euros in your pocket to pay cab fare and such, but use your ATM card to get cash once you run out.
