Ever been to Punta Serena Resort (Manzanillo, Mexico)?

What's your opinion?

How's the service? Is it worth it? How about the nudism - how is the situation? We're planning on going in august... is it a good time to go?

My wife and I stayed here recently and here is our review. First the positives: the resort is in a beautiful location and is very remote. It is also couples only. The weather was 85 and sunny every day/bring lots of sunscreen. The ride from the airport to the resort is approx 50 minutes. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. A tip goes a long way although it is not mandatory. The spa treatments are above average. The liquor is top shelf but you need to request it. The beach is very isolated and quiet. You can pack light since it is clothing optional. The negatives: They only have 10 rooms that have king size beds and we had to stay in a room with double beds our first night. We were switched to a king bed the next day. The rooms need to be updated, particularly the bathrooms. The pool is very small and there is not much privacy. The hot tubs could use hotter water in them. The food is average at best and could use more variety. There is no cell phone service(calls from the room are 2.30usd per minute), no newspapers or atm machines.There is also no cnn or any news on tv's. If you want to get out of the resort it is at least a 40 minute cab ride to Barre Navidad which is a nice town with some good restaurants. With some updating to the rooms and more variety on the menu this could be a 4 star resort.
