Fish in Maldives?

Hi Im going to maldives in june and im 13 and love fishing just wondering where are the best places and what kind of fish are there also i was thinking about going spearfishing. it would help

Tuna Fishing(Bid Eye Tuna) is very exciting and delicious.
Btw,June is Monsoon Season so it is raining almost everyday and the Sea is often choppy and weather is cloudy.
My best advice is for you to go between to Maldives between Oct -April.

Why dont you just learn to scuba and just take pictures of all those beautiful fish instead of killing them?

OK, first things first. You will not get to go spearfishing. The Maldives and its waters are a environmentally protected area. There's not even net fishing allowed. Fish caught commercially in the Maldives are line caught and mainly tuna.

There is the opportunity to go on fishing trips from the resort islands for both day and night fishing. The quality of the fishing depends entirely on the boat crew though so a little bit of research when you're on your chosen island will go a long way to giving you the fishing you want.

Mostly it's catch and release fishing. I have known and seen tuna line caught and cooked. But not reef fish, never reef fish.
Maldives is dependent on tourism as well as fishing and the two need to happily co-exist.

Game fishing is provided on some resorts but again, catch and release is the rule.

My advice would be to get yourself a recognised local crew who have the commercial knowledge of local fishing combined with the enthusiasm of fishing itself to take you out for a day and introduce you to the fish and reefs of the Maldives, hopefully entertaining you and perhaps most importantly educating you about their livelihood and its sustainability.

what i suggest is to book a fishing safari. but if you are comign individual. than you may go to a resort and book seperate fishing trips. there are night fihsing to big game fishing trips.
