Have you ever been to the Maldives?

Having always been a traveller's traveller: That is with a rucksack and hiking boots wandering the east coast of Africa I always put off going to the Maldives.

I thought there would be nothing to do. So when I went to the North Adu Atoll I was expecting to be .... well.... bored.

I found it was anything but boring. My boyfriend and I had time to relax together investigate our island, snorkel the amazing reefs and go diving too. We have been back a few times now, visiting a different resort and marvelling at the incredible environment.

If you like pictures then take a camera. go snorkelling, check out the Spa facilities, play tennis, volleyball etc go diving (even get your PADI diving qualification) - we did!

We found the people welcoming, the climate tropical and hot, just right for lazing in the sun. Huge palms and banyan trees, small huts and bungalows set among the trees are your accommodation or you can sleep on stilts over the water.

The resort islands are specially designed for the toursit so you have all the amenities you may expect from a wealthier economy on a tropical island that appears untouched.

the maldives depends on tourism so you'll find that there is plenty of sensitivity on how a resort is designed and built. No big hotels or crowded beaches we promise.

We fully enjoyed our experience and continue to return to these islands. the clean sea, clear waters, coral reefs, good food and wonderful weather are our recommendations!

It is an easy vacation to take. You are well looked after.
