How to be safe in Los Angeles? |
My fiance and I are going to LA for our honeymoon. We have heard that there is a lot of violence and gangs in LA. We are only planning to go out and see the sights during the day time, as we arn't into clubs and drinking any more. Oh my my, I must set your mind at ease. I have lived in LA for 38 years and have virtually NEVER had a problem. I have gone everywhere. The closest I came was when a bum started hassling my friend on the street so I yelled at him LOUD and scared him more than he scared us! :) don't go to south central鈥?! Ur trippin too much. Just watch your things and you'll be fine. It really just depends on what part of LA you are speaking of because LA is a big place. As I said before, just don't set your **** down, even if for a minute. Try to keep your purse close to your side. LA is like any other big city (well somewhat, it's better then most :) your always gonna have your dirty bad parts and weird shady people. So while the city may not be safe, you should definitely know how to be and you'll be fine. It's a reasonably safe city. I've lived in LA for many years and have never been party to a single violent incident. I live on the east side of Hollywood (Silver Lake). If you are sightseeing at the ordinary sights, you will not have to worry about avoiding any unsafe areas. If you feel unsafe, just take basic precautions like locking car doors and hotel room doors. I honestly think I could probably go without my apartment front door locked all the time and not have a problem. UPS leaves packages on my porch, and they are there when I get home from work. I am a single female and I go all over LA by myself at any time of day or night. Only time I felt like I needed to be more cautious was when I had a boyfriend in South Central LA and frequented those areas (because some people are a little nosy when they see a white female rolling around). The only sight to see there is the Watts Towers anyway. Except in a fluke circumstance or unless you are completely careless, you will be totally fine. jus tell your fiance not to wear blue or red seriously i did and i got a gun pulled out on me and i was on vacation they thought i was a blood lol it wasnt funny at the time i was pissed it was 6 of them and jus me and my cousin they cant do anything one on one jus tell him that besides that i had a nice time. LA is safe as long as you stay in tourist spot and like anyplace else just be aware all the time of your sorroundings and always be on-guard about you valuables...have a good vacation and enjoy. Come on. If you do not look or dress like a banger then you are safe. Don't believe all the hype. |
