How are the drving conditions in LA?

we're going to drive from LA to las vegas on a sunday afternoon. how are the driving conditions? how's the traffic? Also how are traffic conditions in general in LA?

Generally, LA traffic is heavy, BUT at least that is the direction to be going on a Sunday afternoon. Usually it's all coming home, as you will see.

I just heard that NEXT weekend, rain is predicted, so if you are thinking of driving there then, perhaps leave a little extra time.

Driving to Vegas on a Sunday should pose little problem, barring any weather and other unusual conditions.. If you were to drive from Vegas to LA on a Sunday, you will defiently encounter your share of traffic.

Traffic in LA by and large sucks, especially during rush hour (M-F 6AM-9AM and 4PM to 7 PM). Try to avoid driving during these hours if at all possible.

omg, there is so much traffic in LA!!! especially around the middle of the day and in the morning!

the traffic is terrible. it could take you three times or more as long to go places. generally LA traffic sucks even more than san diego.... a lot more.

Crouded. It doesnt ever matter when, the freeways are always jam packed. The roads are narrow, and people always seem to be in a mood. Not fun for a road trip.
