Well-paying jobs/careers in Las Vegas, for someone with an Economics background?

I have a Master's Degree in International Economics and I'm planning to move to Las Vegas. Any suggestions for possible careers? Thank you! :)

Vegas is a regular city with regular jobs besides those associatged with the gaming industry.聽 Moving to a city without a job offer can be disasterous.I would check with several hotel/casinos for job interviews, etc., which are the main business who may be interested in your credentials.Right now the economy is on a downturn with high foreclosure rates, many business ancilliary to the housing market hurting from furniture sales to other businesses.聽 And some of the Hotel/casinos are even having layoffs in specific areas.Be smart.聽 Even the State, County, and several Cities have hiring freezes.

Research before you move, lining up interviews, etc.聽 Go to www.lasvegasnow.com for information about business in Vegas.

sources
monster jobs
career builders
also check Clark County, high pay
SWNA the water dist. has some very high paying jobs.

Good luck

buy sun screen and check out Indeed.com
It brings up jobs from all of the job boards!, you click on the link and then it takes you to the actual job posting. Easier doing one search then 5 seperate ones.

CPA- All the casinos need them! & Have them!

Las Vegas is not synonymous with "career" or "well-paying" unless you're a business owner or a casino owner. Trust me. I live in Vegas and have a husband with an Econ degree. Employers here generally do not value or care about education, just if you show up and will take the lowest possible pay.

Nice town for menial jobs in the service or travel industry, not so great for everything else.

EDIT:

Nice. A thumbs down for blunt honesty. Don't come crying when you find a job and it only pays $12 an hour while you're kicking and screaming that your education and experience demands more. This town just doesn't pay for it. I've seen a scarce handful of jobs that do but it's damn near impossible to get into them.
