We are going to Las Vegas and need help choosing the right hotel....? |
We are stopping in Las Vegas this summer for two nights (June 13-15) on our way from the Grand Canyon and on the way to Hollywood. My family and I got together and looked at all the hotels (well, most of them I believe) and decided that we would like to stay at the Mandalay Bay. However, when we looked at the reviews, some of them were not that great. We are aware that the Mandalay Bay is on the end of the strip, but does that really affect you because there is a free tram service to the Luxor or Excalibur? So then we decided that we might want to look around more and we really think the Venetian looks neat. However the pool doesn't compare to the pool at the Mandalay Bay. The Venetian's is just simple, but the Mandalay's is a huge wave pool with sand and a lazy river and regular pools as well. Tell me which hotel from the two you would recommend, and your experiences at them. Is it worth giving up the pool at the Mandalay for the overall Venetian? Also, recommend any other hotels! Both hotels are great but I personally prefer Mandalay Bay. For that time of year you plan to visit, you will be happy with the beach experience at Mandalay Bay. Another tip, Mandalay Bay offers more discounts and promo codes than the Venetian, so you stand a chance of staying there much cheaper than the Venetian well u hav kids rite im gessin um u should look up the southpoint its a new hotel in Vegas also its not that expensivetheres a huge pool area and they have a movie theater and a bowling alley oh and a spa 4 u n ur husband/wife sry not sure which u r haha can chill n relax did i mention the Jerry Lewis telethon yeup thats the hotel where they shoot the Jerry Lewis Telethon LIVE!!! so go online n check it out If the main thing you are concerned with is the pool then go with Mandalay bay since it best suits your needs. I'm not a pool person and between the two would choose the Venetian because of its central location on the strip. As far as the tram goes, the Excalibur is only a couple hotels down from Mandalay bay and is still on the end of the strip, but the deuce bus goes up and down the strip so you can always take that to get where you need to go. Best bang for the buck is Four Queens or El Cortez downtown Vegas. It's not on the strip but theres the light show over the side walk on Freemont St. and the hotels are cheaper and the casinos have lower limits in the downtown area. The El Cortez actually has a 25 cent roulette table and you still get the free drinks. There is a bus stop on the street and it will take you to the strip for about 5-7 dollars and it'll take about 8 hours to walk the strip and sight see. I love Vegas but I stay downtown for the low prices and visit the strip once during my stay. Have fun and good luck! I stayed at the MGM last spring break and found it to be very nice for its low price. But after walking around, my boyfriend and I decided that next time we visit Vegas, we are going to stay at either Mandalay Bay or New York New York. Mandalay Bay is really nice and it is as crowded as the other hotels because it is at the end of the strip. New York New York is also at the end of the strip and is nice but it is more crowded. The prices are cheaper at New York, New York and they have a lot of food places to eat inside the hotel. The Venetian is AMAZING! If I had to choose between the two I would choose the Venetian. Its really nice and I would definitely stay there. It is the pricest of the two but there are a lot of stuff for you to do inside the hotel and it is in the middle of the strip. You would nit have to do a lot of walking like you would if you were to stay at Mandalay Bay which is at the end of the strip. the last time i wsas in Vegas we stayed at Mnadalay The Venitian is nice, The Wynn is Fantastic, I feel mandalay bay is just so boring and over priced, if you want a lazy river The Montecarlo has one also but no wave pool, however its a faction of the cost of mandalay bay..... However I would go to the Venitian over Mandalay anyday... There is so much more to do, it had the gondala rides all the shops and more! Plus its centrally located which is great.... Stay at the Mandalay Bay...you will love their wave pool! My family lives in Vegas and when I visit them, I usually book a room at Mandalay for a few nites to enjoy the pool. |
