Shuttle vs. cab?

when in las vegas is it better to take a shuttle to and from airport or a taxi?
price?

I have taken the shuttle most of the time and a taxi on just a few occasions. The shuttle is really cheap but has a couple of downsides. Sometimes when you get on the shuttle going to and/or from the airport the other passengers can be going to 3 or 4, and sometimes 5 other hotels. So it can be an annoyance to ride all over until they get to your hotel. Likewise going back to the airport many times there are 3 or 4 stops before you actually head to the airport and its a minor annoyance.

The major problem I have had with the shuttle is when I have a very early flight, like 6:00 AM, they want to pick me up at 3:00 AM to give themselves enough time to get to the airport and so I can be there two hours early. And Las Vegas is for sure one of the airports where you do need that two hours. But not usually for a 6:00 AM flight. So on one occasion the shuttle refused to come when i wanted it. So I had my wife call about an hour later and give them a different time. One shuttle person told me, and I don't know if this is true or not, that they are required to get passengers to the airport two hours early. In my book that's none of their business.

So if you take the shuttle be prepared for those little annoyances.

Take the cab. Its faster and you don't have to wait for the shuttle to come by. Besides, you don't want to sit with people that you don't know in the shuttle.

If your hotel offers a free shuttle, use it; otherwise take a taxi... the Las Vegas strip is very close to the airport so it would probably not be over $15- $20. I've taken a taxi from the LV airport all the way to my house 30 minutes away and it was only $40. That was about 5 years ago, but still....

Take the shuttle, cheaper

if ur hotel offer free shuttle then uses it but u probally have to wait but take taxi its bout 20bucks its so much faster
