Romantic things to do in kansas city missouri... valentines day is fast approaching...?

plz help me!!!! i am very new to the area and want to do something sweet for my bf for v day... i am sending him a pizza that day at work (instead of flowers.. what guy wants flowers?) with heart shaped peperonni and that night when he gets home i want to get dressed up and go out to eat and do something like a carraige ride... or something romantic... so if anyone can find good restaurants...and a good after activity... they will get ten points from me!!!鈾?thanks!

Depending on the weather, a walk through Loose park or just around some of the fountains could be romantic.

Any restaurant you enjoy should be fine. There is no need to go overboard when going out on what is after all an arbitrarily appointed day for romance. If it's too syrupy your b/f may not enjoy himself. So keep the soft-focus romantic dinner thing to a minimum. Just go out someplace nice that you both like.

As far as afterwards, you don't have many options. You could try the carriage ride in the Plaza, but given the night that might be a challenge.

Personally, I don't like the idea of a special romantic day that has been created by greeting card companies. There is nothing historically romantic about St. Valentine, especially considering he was a virtuous Catholic saint. For that reason I choose to go out with my g/f the weekend before or after. We do all the normal Valentine's Day things, but on a different (and less crowded) night.

I don't want to come across as a stick in the mud, but the celebration of your relationship with your b/f should be a personal matter, not something dictated by a company with commercial interests.

but the horse carrage rides at the Plaza are Fun.
