How are the people in Kansas city, Missouri?

I am considering going to college there. I am black and would prefer not go somewhere that has,...well how do I put it..um...high incidences of rascism or any kind of discrimatory behavior. So I would like to know something about their general attitudes or some kind of general characteristic about the city.

There are plenty of black people that live in KC, so no need to worry. According to wikipedia, the population is about 31% black...

My friend became a Vet going to college there and Columbia, but he is white..... but I did notice alot of black folk about and he never mentioned anything about the city being racist. Sorry cant help that much.

I am not black so I can't really say what your experience will be. However, I've noticed that white on black racism requires at least two things to exist: an uneducated, poor white population and an uneducated, poor black population. There is some of both of those in KC. However, everyone I know cares much less about skin color than they do about attitude and comportment.

So come on to KC. You'd be welcome.

I know tons and tons of awsome people in Kansas City but ... i don't know what the people are like at the college. Any ways... you should go and visit it to see what you think. If you have any spare time (maybe need to study or write a report) then I highly recommend you going to this one coffee shop called Higher Grounds ... It is next to the international house of prayer ... But ya...
