Houston is getting credit!?

I see that some times people talk poorly about Houston. I don'r know if they are from here or not. I read a article in whic they chose five underated cities in the U.S. Houston was the the third most underated city. The only Texas city chose. Then I just read Houston was rated sixth for the best restraunts in the U.S. Once again being the only Texas city in the top ten.

I have never heard people trash Houston until I started doing Yahoo Answers. These few people on here make it appear to be the worst place on earth.

I am not a native Houstonian but have really enjoyed the people I have met and places I have visited here.

I JUST read that article. I lived in Houston for about 10 years and LOVED IT! The people are very friendly, the city has a low cost of living and everything you would want to do, and I liked the weather.

I saw that article yesterday, and was quite surprised. Nice to see. The reason we're in that article is because we're always ignored. You hear all kinds of raves about Dallas (originally because of that damned TV show) and San Antonio (like the city doesn't exist aside from the Riverwalk). Not to trash the other cities (as I like visiting both), but Houston is long overdue for a good review.

Of course if you followed the link that came with it, that "review" of Houston was the usual trash talk from people who've never been here.

EDIT: Looking down I see that Mizzhollywood either paid her electric bill or found a library.

Houston is underrated.
Fort Worth is underrated.

Austin is way overrated.

good point. Houston is big cosmo city where folks are friendly and there are lots of restaurants. What is also not known to many is that most of the top100 fortune companies have their presence in Houston (most than any other city in the nation)

Those people have probably never been here personally before. They're always hoping to be in the American public eye, because they never get any attention like other places.
