Is it green all year round in Houston?

Or does it get brown in the winter? Thanks

Yes, most years it is green year round.
I am looking out at my lawn right now and it is green.

This answer is incorrect. Report It

Many plants and St. Augustine grass all brown, and some trees. But the pine trees stay green and the golf course grass, so there is always the presence of green unless we have a really hard freeze and the pine trees become covered with ice. (When the ice melts, the green is back)

Compared to other places, Yes it stays green all year round. Houston does not have the as noticeable season changes has other places.

There is even a huge difference if you were to drive to Dallas today. The more north you go the grass is brown and the trees have no leaves.

No.

It is not green year round. You'll notice most grass start turning tan around January, but it starts growing back. The leaves fell off the trees (for the most part) in December. They'll start growing back with a vengeance this month, starting with loads of pine pollen!

Some browning in Late Novemeber to Mid-February. Annuals will bloom in December if planted correctly. Overall great environment.

The answer given by Ms. MKL is completely incorrect, so please do not follow that one. Houston stays pretty much green all year round. Now, if it gets too cold in the winter (which does not happen a lot), it turns a little brown but NOT for long.

MKL needs to put down the damned pipe. No one cares if she, or that other dipstick Mzzzzzzzhollywood hate it here. It is green most of the year, except for our brief winter. Lawns may have patches of green, but many are yellow. Leaves are off trees now.

No, but hot and humid in the summer.

No it's brown all year around except spring then it's green. NO white :((
