My husband works in W. Houston at I-10 & Hwy 6. How bad is the traffic from Pearland along 288 & Beltway 8?

I live in Pearland (288 area) and I travel to the Medical Center and never have a problem unless there is a accident (which is rare)

and coming home I dont run into any problems

really bad during rush hr. morning and evening. it has to be some of the worse bumper to bumper gridlock in the city

that would be one of the worst commutes in the city. those are already congested roads. then you are going through central Houston... Oy!

I would say in rush hour, you're looking at 60+ minutes, 30-40 in light traffic.

It does get backed up at times

Awful.

First he has to take Katy Freeway to the beltway and then Beltway 8 all the way around to Pearland.

Forget Highway 6, which is a nightmare of it's own with the 50mph speed limit and the traffic lights.

The Beltway backs up at Bissonette and stays in a state of gridlock until West Airport, and then slogs along at 30mph until you get to Pearland. I have a co-worker who lives in Pearland who asked to work at 7 instead of 8AM so traffic isn't so bad (and he goes from Stafford to Pearland).

If you're thinking of buying a home in Pearland and working in the Energy Corridor, I hope your husband has patience!!

it is pretty bad. i take the back streets, but even that's getting congested.

I will describe it with just one word. HORRIBLE!
seriously, I have to go to UH main campus. I live in pearland and I take back roads to get to school, in the mornings it is soooo bad it takes 40 mins or more depending on traffic to get to I-45. But I guess your husband could pay an eztag and take beltway 8.... even though it will be a longer way but not as much traffic as highway 288.

It depends on what time you're going!!
