In your opinion, what is a better place to live, Dallas or Houston?

I like texas but i dont know if i would prefer Dallas or Houston, which do you prefer and why? I am verry athletic and enjoy getting out and having fun.

I prefer Houston, There is more to do, more career opportunities.

Depends what your looking for in a lifestyle....Houston is more laid back...but Dallas has more money.

I think that people are friendlier in Houston. Just read Joel R's comments. Actually the traffic in Dallas sucks as well. At least Houston knows how to mark their freeways so you know which lane to be in for the exit you need. Dallas puts you in the far left lane, then will have another sign that says "Exit 1/2 mile" in the far right lane. You have to know where you're going to drive in Dallas. Not so in Houston.

If you like real is Houston and look nice but just outside is Dallas .

Houston. Bigger city, more to do.

HI.. I am brazilian and I have been in Houston for a year... Was amazing... the people are really friendly and has many options to go out and enjoy. I have been in Dallas once... Was amanzing... but I prefer Houston cuz is kind of bigger... and is a really nice city

I would move to Austin! It's way better than either of those tow cities. There is a lot of outdoor activities, live music, free concerts, lot's of great places to hang out. It's not a concrete jungle like Dallas and Houston, and you can ride your bike anywhere. The public transportation is awesome. You've got Lake Travis, Lake Austin, the Guadalupe River(45 min. away) and the greenbelt all right there! It's in the hill country and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous! Check it out, it definitely sounds more like you.

I dont know much about Dallas and I'm not saying that its a bad place to live but I love my city of Houston

So I am voting for Houston because we have many athletic clubs; nice people; clubs etc

I have lived in both and prefer Houston. Dallas is too segregated. Houston has more culture, diversity, job opportunities and a much more sophisticated nightlife. The only thing I can say is better in Dallas, is that it's easier for tourists to get around. Dallas has a great Arts district and a rail that takes you from one end of the city to the other.

I would say the only thing Houston has on Dallas is the colleges.

Im from Dallas but I stay in both cities because I have close friends here in Houston and Dallas so im always back and forth and my Job in based in Dallas but has a branch in Houston and work out of both.

Ok Houston is cool but the zones are messed up. You know how you can drive down a residential street and then out of no where its like 5 stores and then residential again. Thats poor zoning. Dallas is put together really well.

Houston has more jobs only cause its bigger but Dallas has the high paying big dollar jobs. Houston has clubs and Dallas has clubs both have something going on every night of the week. You like to workout they both have large markets for fitness centers.

BOTH CITIES ARE GREAT/ Dallas just has better sports teams!!!

I love Houston so i would definetly pick that as a destination. but if you dont like humidity during the summer time you might wanna pick Dallas.

Adri is right. Dallas is racist; very class conscious. North Dallas is great if you have alot of money. The rest of Dallas is a wasteland. Houston is more cosmopolitan. Plus Galveston is close for those weekends on the beaches.

Dallas is definitely more glamorous in a large hat sort of way . The people there say they have more money when Houston is a city booming with industry and money, with a larger number of jobs, much more laid back and very charity oriented. Dallas has the Mavericks, Cowboys, Stars and Rangers but Houston has the Astros, Rockets, and Texans. The nightlife is the same except Houston's is more diverse, with dive bars to fancy clubs.
I guess it's up to you: if you like to live life in Dallas, which I do not recommend, then I wish you well there but the thing about Houston is that there is more culture, diversity among people as well as work, an amazing museum district, a much larger city than Dallas and more people, sports lovers, great restaurants, beaches 45 min. away and communities that are surrounded by lakes.
All in all its a matter of preferences and I wish you the best in your search!

People in Dallas are a bunch of snobs who think having a TV show about their city makes them God's gift to the world.

Houston has more Fortune 500 companies, a bigger Galleria, the 2nd largest port in the world, the largest medical center in the world, and a generous serving of Southern hospitality.

Houston!! Dallas is cool but it cant compete in any area with Houston.

I have lived in both and Dallas tops hands down.

Dallas is for shure the way to go. I am from Dallas, but I am living near Houston for school, and I way prefer Dallas. Houston for me, the traffic sucks, the people suck, and the weather is crazy. It is always so humid here, I will just walk from my dorm to my car and already I will be sweating everywhere. I like the weather in Dallas better, plus they have the Cowboys, and Houston has the Texans. I mean come on.

Neither.
