Where is a good are to live in Houston Texas?

we want to move to Houston Texas or Austin by the end of the year and but we want a good but not an expensive area we want to rent an apartment.we have a child and we would like it to have nice daycares. what do you recomend. thank you

one person said atascocita. thts a nice place. i go to school there. but you also might want to check out the neighborhood Fall Creek. its a very nice neighborhood. still growing. 3 apartment complex's and a new elementary school to open next school year and a high school to open in 2 years. there are also 3 daycares less than 10 minutes away. i know the owner of one and they are a very nice couple. and if u would need a babysitter, we have a lot here! if u ever did consider this neighborhood, you would most likely hear about the Howards. its 3 sibligs tht babysitt and they are excelent!

we are also just 10 minutes from the airport and 15 from downtown.

Fall Creek is the only major wooded golf community inside Houston鈥檚 Beltway 8, putting you closer to the excitement of the city, with the natural splendor, acclaimed Humble schools, tournament-quality golf and the warm sense of community that has made us famous. Tour homes by the area鈥檚 top builders in a wooded setting like none other and discover so much of what your lifestyle demands so close to a place you鈥檒l want to call home.

No

Austin is much better than Houston. Did you know that when you travel to Houston, you can actually see the smog as you begin approaching that city? It's really, really bad. You have a child? You don't want to raise him/her in a city with pollution that bad.

Austin is much nicer and safer (might I add) than Houston. It's not quite as big, and you'll still be close to the coast. Not as close, as you would be in Houston, but your lungs would thank you for it!

I would recommend my area, in the southeast, Preferably Clear Lake/League City or Kemah, because you have the kemah boardwalk which is a big tourist attraction as well as NASA in Clear lake. It's a very good neighborhood and the same goes for schools. Check it out, everything has just about a luxury look to it but at an affordable rate and there are millions of daycares, such as [kindercare, la petite, give me a break, etc]

Hope this is some help to you and Clear Lake/League City are in between houston and galveston both equal distances from both, 23 miles from Houston and Galveston

Sugarland/Missouri City/Stafford areas (S.W. Houston)
Richmond/Rosenberg (A little further out of city)

Katy (just 10 mi. west of Houston)
Woodlands (North of Houston on IH-45)
Clear Lake City (20 miles southeast of Houston on IH-45)

If you want to live IN Houston I could only recommend Bellaire (NO Apartments b/c of zoning laws) or West University but it's more exp.

GL!!

I was going to recommend my area, but there aren't a lot of apartments in this zip code. There are condominiums and townhomes for rent, though (but they'll cost more). You'd have the advantage of being in a phenomenal area (Memorial) that is safe, convenient, and quiet.

atascocita is a nice area but they may be expensive you would pay more to live in a nicer area then to be somewhere and pay cheap rent and not be satisfied you know

Used to live in houston, floods when it rains. I wasnt near galveston or anything...

I always if you want to stay out of the traffic, live inside the loop and work outside the loop. I have no idea about your other requirements

There are some good spots but the tricky part is the cost of living.

Sugarland, Katy, Humble/Atascosita, Pearland, League City/Friendswood/Woodlands/Spring (and a few others) are good spots and daycare centers

I would recommend Katy, it is close enough to Houston and you can still have something other than buildings to look at.

Austin is nice too, very hilly, very pretty. I live in Sealy it's on the outside of Katy. I have family that live in Austin, they love it!
