Hawaii Vacation?

I am planning to go on a vacation to Hawaii sometime this June with a couple of friends. I want to stay down towards Honolulu/Waikiki because my friends and I are still young and I heard that's where most of the clubs are, not to mention the famous Waikiki beach.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any hotels that are both cheap, and nearby any known night clubs and by the Waikiki beach? I would prefer a hotel that is of walking distance to these places. I would also prefer a hotel that is of good condition and an "okay" place to stay or better-- NOT like a motel 6 or something.

I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

The lady that answered before is definitely right. The last time I went we payed 195 per night and that was a good price to pay to be right on the strip. You could check hotels.com and find some good ones. On hotels.com it gives you the best rate and it also gives you feed back on what people that have stayed there thought. It was how we found the last hotel that we stayed at there and it was wonderful!!

Here are a couple of hotel suggestions:
The Ohana chain - owned by Outrigger but less expensive
The Outrigger chain - slightly higher end properties than Ohana
Queen Kapiolani - older "local" hotel right next to the zoo and Kapiolani park
Royal Grove - older, family run hotel with a pool. Very simple and inexpensive.

These are all pretty affordable. There are many high end hotels too, but I don't know what your budget is. :)

You can walk anywhere in Waikiki. A lot of the clubs/bars are located on Kuhio Avenue, which is a short walk from the "main drag" of Kalakaua Avenue. Duke's in the Outrigger Waikiki has the Barefoot Bar, which is a lot of fun but closes at midnight most nights. From there you can go to Scruples, Tsunami, Moose McGillycuddy's, and many others. Rumours at the Ala Moana Hotel is good but you will have to take a cab as it's a bit outside the "main" part of Waikiki.

Check out www.tripadvisor.com. It'll help out a lot in picking a hotel because it has reviews from people who have actually stayed there (good and bad) AND their photos! The hotels always put cheezy made-up looking pics on their site, but the folks on tripadvisor are brutal. Definitely give it a try.

i stayed at the marina hotel and at the kuhio village and both were cheap and good condition, the marina one was a little far walk but kuhio village was just a few blocks from waikiki beach. There are a lot of cheap hotels, the AQUA chain is very cheap. You can also search for more up to date hotels at tripadvisor.com or rent a condo for the week. If you rent a condo you can split it with all your friends and the more people the cheaper it will be. For condos check out VRBO.com
