I'm going to be staying at the Hale Koa (Fort DeRussy) in Waikiki. Can you walk from there to Diamond Head? If you are wanting to get there quickly - it's not a walk. If you enjoy walking & it is part of your recreation or exercise, it is a good walk. But are you wanting to get to the part of Diamond Head where you can hike up to the top, or just to the base of Diamond Head at Kapiolani Park? If you want to do the hike, the entrance to the trail is on the back side of Diamond Head & you could not walk to there easily. its 2.3 miles from there that would be 7mins by car No.....Hale Koa is in the city part.....Diamond Head is a volcano....the mountain is 2.3 miles aways and you would have to maneaver through the city streets and climb up to get to Diamond Head. It's a bit long to walk, but you can take a $2 city bus (a three-block walk and take the "Beach Bus" city bus). Your hotel can give you directions and a map. If you are driving, you can drive into the crater itself. If you walk to Diamond Head Crater, do the hike into up the crater and walk back to the Hale Koa you wi be very, very tired. I'd suggest taking the bus or driving. |
