Does home sickness pass?

i wanna go work in the UK for a year, and i know i'll get very homesick. Do u think it will pass?

It definitely passes. It's hard at first and you'll probably want to give up and go home! But try to work through it. Part of it will also be culture shock - make sure you read up on that before you leave. Yes, even going somewhere as similar as the UK you can feel culture shock. I did!

I lived in Eastern Europe and it was a lot harder than I'd expected. I felt homesick and wanted to go home so badly. I almost did a few times! But I'm glad I stuck it out. I made some good friends and have some amazing experiences.

Do it!

ofcourse it will, after a couple of months you will get caught up in your work and start to meet new people... it passed for me when i moved from across canada..

It always does. My daughter has an exchange student living with her every year for the whole school year. They are between the ages of 15 to 17. Everyone gets homesick, but they all get over it, expecially because my daughter and her family keep so busy.

When you first get there it migth hit you hard but gradually you'll get used to it. Just depends on what you have home to be sick about.

It could be a very fun experience for you. Just keep in contact with your loved ones, etc.

It should pass gradually though.

homesickness will pass after awhile. its hard to get over when you get sick but you just have to be careful. make sure if you want to call home you can. i was in europe for 3 weeks and i couldn't call my parents for a week and i nearly broke a phone because the phone card wasn't working properly. on the other hand calling home less is better because you adjust better when you are more concentrated on the things you are doing at the moment.
if you have any little siblings that you are close to... THEY WILL CRY when you talk to them and trust me you can't help but cry too
