Does anyone know of any problems regarding getting pregnant whilst on Malaria medication (spec: Malarone)?

Does anyone know of any problems regarding getting pregnant whilst on Malaria medication (spec: Malarone)?

If you are only visiting an area where Malaria is endemic, just wait a month until after you have left to try to get pregnant. If you live permanently where Malaria is endemic, you shouldn't be taking any Malaria medication for prolonged periods. Not only will it actually do more damage to your body than actually getting Malaria and treating it, it also is no guarantee and may mask some symptoms, thus making a diagnosis more difficult should you get it anyway.

We believe you should probably take the anti-malarials. Check with your doctor and with your national health service or the US Centers for Disease Control.... Here's the CDCs general site on malaria: http://www.cdc.gov/malaria/index.htm and here's an article on malaria and pregnancy: http://www.cdc.gov/Malaria/features/mala...

We have a general page on Malaria Pills: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/malaria...

Happy travels... even if you don't travel the world... just remember that life is a journey... embrace and enjoy it!
