Would u rather be in a plane when it crashes or in a car when it crashes?

and which is safer? plane or car? if u say planes are safer, but you'd rather be in a car when it crashes why is that?

i'd rather b in a car crash cause then at least u have more of a chance of surviving then a plane crash.

BUT NO ONE ANSWERED THE SECOND QUESTION. WHICH IS SAFER TO TRAVEL IN PLANE OR CAR???????????//

I'd rather be in a car crash than a plane crash because the survival rate in a car crash is higher than it is in a plane crash.

Planes are the safer way to travel because there are orders of magnitude more car crashes than there are plane crashes.

Basically if you're in a plane, you're not very likely to get in a crash, but if you do, you're more likely to die. If you're in a car, you're far more likely to get in a crash, but you have a better chance of surviving.

Edit: An "honors mind" thinks that having "technology" around will cause an explosion?

i'd rather just crash in my bed! Report It

honestly a plane crash for some reason...although i cant say why. maybe because the death might be more instantaneous

I,d rather not be in either crash but if I had to choose I,d rather be in a car crash. My odds of surviving would be better with less chance of being burned alive by jet fuel.

i agree, car crashes are much less ...whats the word...disastrous? sure.. then being in a plane crash...in a plane crash you could crash, and explode because of the massive amount of gas and technology in the plane, or if you plummet towards the water, your pretty much sunk (bu-dum, chiing) wehr in a car crash, your car gets totaled, car have less mass then a plane and will sink slower, and there is a less chance of it exploding

i'd rather be in a car crash bcuz in a plane crash thers nothing u can do 2 stop the plane from falling or somethin but if ur in a car crash then at least u could put on the brakes oor try turn to miss whatever ur fixin 2 hit

I would rather neither one, and everyone know that you're safer in a plane than in a car. Now if you're asking which one is safer if you know they're gonna crash? Of course the car is safer! i just don't see how being 5,0000 feet in the air and about to crash can be in anyway safe!

Well the survival rate for car crashes is higher than for plane crashes, if one had foreknowledge they could pick only one option knowing it would crash (and the choice was somehow forced to prohibit choosing to use neither) then the car would be the option.

However in normal circumstances without prior knowledge of the fate of the vehicle then of course the plane wins hands down, the statistics are such that plane crashes happen much less frequently (in crashes per vehicle mile) than for a car, and so are the figures for deaths in such crashes (less people die per mile traveled in an aircraft than the same figure in cars), this is because there are so many more car crashes even the higher survival rate is not enough to counteract their severely increased frequency.

Also note that in fact many air crashes are not as bad as people believe (stories like plane crashes killing all on board tend to be hammered by media and remain in memory much more than stories like plane overshoots runway, aircraft damaged all passengers escape safely but for some minor injuries) and there are many hundreds of examples of air incidents where the death toll is small or none existent, especially in cases of aircraft overshooting the runway for example due to factors like incorrect wind data, breaking system failure and so on.
