Is interstate 40 driving through the black mountains a difficult road??

my boyfriend lives in camp lejeune, and i was going to drive down this weekend to see him... he said its really dangerous driving through the black mountains, but ill be taking interstate 40, so i dont think it should be too bad, i mean, its an interstate?? but, idk. i need to leave tomorrow around noon, so help is appreciated as soon as possible.

im probably going to end up driving down anyways,
but i just wanted to know what you thought.

I didn't think it was too bad. The worst part is usually the fog but it's not horrible. Very beautiful drive. Enjoy your trip!
